The Data Stretcher connects to the base or mobile radio's discriminator audio output. When the DATA stretcher detects a valid signal in its COR input, it begins recording the received audio. Up to 20 seconds of clear audio is stored in digital memory. When the carrier is dropped, the Data Stretcher delays transmitter keying by a programmed amount and then retransmits the recorded audio. The Data Stretcher includes announcement mode and has the ability to replay the recorded message.

Power Consumption :
The Data Stretcher is ideal for remote solar and battery-powered sites. In standby mode, less then 10 ma of current is drawn. The worst-case current consumption occurs when a message is recorded into the voice module, and it is under 20 ma.
