Solar Alarm
The Solar Alarm is used to keep track of the solar
panels' and the solar regulator's health.
If your repeater site is solar powered only, then you need the
Solar Alarm. There is nothing more frustrating than to believe
that your repeater batteries and solar panels are in good condition,
then have a customer call and inform you that the repeater is
not working. After a very long drive, you find that the batteries
are flat. The solar regulator has failed.
The Solar Alarm measures the output voltage from the
solar panel and compares this reading to the battery voltage every
time the repeater is keyed-up. In addition, it has a battery low-voltage
alarm, programmable by you, which informs you that the battery
voltage has fallen below a critical level. The Solar Alarm will
add a courtesy tone that you program to your repeater, which will
inform you of the health of the solar panels and the batteries.
