Licencing Marine Radios:
Radio operator's certificate required, called
"Radio Operators Restricted", which is issued
by
Industry Canada.
Frequency Range for VHF is from 156 MHz to 163
MHz.
In Canada, Industry Canada is responsible for
Licencing of VHF radios
Since April 1999, there is no Licensing Fee required
on Marine Radios.
VHF Marine Radios cannot be used
on "land", they can only be used on Water.
Useage:
Channel 16 is used for
EMERGENCIES and for calling another
station only
Make the call and then move to another channel to talk.
Some channels are for Commercial use only, others for
telephone and non-commercial

alert tone"
